The Pritchard Rd Neighbourhood Association was born from a desire to create a healthy environment and a thriving neighbourhood through education and advocacy, and action. Our biggest hope for the future is to see our community flourish, where both nature and residents are protected and supported for generations to come.
Brooklyn Creek: a precious habitat
Brooklyn Creek is not just a creek; it's a sensitive riparian habitat teeming with life. It's an active salmon spawning ground and a critical nesting site for wild birds including eagles, herons, waterfowl, barred owls, and pileated woodpeckers, alongside water-loving mammals like otters. Our surrounding neighbourhood, with its ground-level housing, is home to a diverse inter-generational population who enjoy walking the many nature trails that wind through our town and connect us to each other, schools, parks, the downtown, and recreation areas.
The Pritchard Rd Neighbourhood Association is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of our community and the cherished natural spaces within it. We focus on educating about best practices for nurturing a healthy environment, development that threaten our local ecosystem. We believe in bringing people together to foster stronger community bonds as we make our neighbourhood an even better place to live.
